Safe Routes to School (SRTS)is a national initiative with many resources for local communities. The links below provide access to many of these resources that describe the many facets of SRTS, funding sources, planning tools for implementation, and more.
The EHHD ACHIEVE leadership team is available to come to your school to present information (to administration or PTOs) on the scope of Safe Routes to School and how it can be implemented on a local level. Safe Routes to School is not 'a program' for a school; it is a concept for finding ways for children to have safe access to schools through active transportation (walking/biking), and the possibilities to achieve that are as individualized as the schools in EHHD member towns. Please contact the EHHD offices at 860-429-3361 or blooma@ehhd.org for more information.
