Public Health Nurse


The Eastern Highlands Health District (EHHD), a local public health district serving ten towns in Eastern Connecticut, has an immediate opening for a full time Public Health Nurse.  Primary responsibilities include supporting the local health department response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and control of other infectious diseases. This may include but is not limited to contact tracing, vaccination planning and operations, health education, other public health activities as needed.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing granted by an accredited college or university is required. A Master’s Degree in nursing, public health, or health services administration is preferred.

Applicants must hold a valid license as an RN, or APRN in the State of Connecticut. Minimum of three years of nursing experience as a professional nurse in a position involving clinical practice, staff supervision, health education, nursing consultation, or nursing/health administration.  Salary commensurate to education and experience. This is a durational, grant-funded position.
