COMMUNITY HEALTH STATUS AND INFORMATION

EHHD Immunization Rapid Community Assessment April 2024 Report

Executive Summary

DataHaven has published a town equity report for all 169 towns in Connecticut, as well as for custom-defined geographic regions, such as agency service areas. This series of reports is designed to inform local-level efforts to improve community well-being and racial equity. These reports disaggregate data from the 2020 Census, American Community Survey micro data files, DataHaven Community Wellbeing Survey  record-level files, and other federal and state sources to create relevant town-level information that is not typically available from standard public databases.

Eastern Highlands Health District 2015 Wellbeing Survey Report

The DataHaven Community Wellbeing Survey was designed by DataHaven in consultation with dozens of local, statewide, and national survey research experts and local partners, in many cases drawing upon questions used in previous community surveys throughout the region. Residents age 18 and older were interviewed from within all 169 towns in Connecticut and seven zip codes in New York. Interviews were conducted in English and Spanish.  Local level samples like those for the EHHD region were weighted using the same parameters but applied at a local level (town instead of county). Respondents were contacted via landline or cell phone.

Greater Hartford Community Wellbeing Index 2019

The Greater Hartford Community Wellbeing Index 2019 is part of a comprehensive community indicators program that collects, shares, and evaluates quality-of-life data on an ongoing basis at the state, regional, and neighborhood levels. This work builds upon the primary mission of DataHaven, a formal partner of the National Neighborhood Indicators Partnership, and is consistent with our focus since we released our first printed book of social indicator maps nearly 25 years ago in New Haven. This index makes extensive use of the Community Wellbeing Survey which included in-depth interviews with randomly selected individuals. EHHD was a proud supporter and funder of the interviews.
